reading list...

Here's what I'm currently reading, I've included my reviews, thus far.

A Year of Living Biblically by AJ Jacobs.

An intriuging read, one man's mission to understand the best selling book by literally following every rule and commandment wrtten in the bible. He doesn't cut his hair, wear mixed fibers, he blows a horn at the beggining of every month. From the basics, such as not lying, coveting or stealing to the obscure like not touching a woman during her period, or attaching tassles to his clothing, we follow his year of radical change. I'm only halfway through, and I highly recommend this book. It will make you question the rules you follow, and the ones you don't.

Alice, I Have Been by Melanie Benjamin

A love story about the girl who inspired her childhood friend to write Alice in Wonderland. I though it appropriate, considering the release date of the new Tim Burton movie. Only past the first few pages, but I was riveted.

Into The Beautiful North by some spanish dude who won't come to mind just now.

Interesting book about a Mexican girl who realizes all the men have desserted her town. After a showing of The Magnificent Seven, this girl sets off with a few friends to America, to find and bring back men to protect and repopulate the village.

Also:

Rough Guide, Lonely Planet, Foders, Frommers and the Compass Guide to Alaska. I cleaned off the shelf of Alaska books at the library. My favorite Alaskan guide so far has been the Guide to the Alaskan Highway. Fantastic read if you ever plan on driving to the 49th state.
