I've been pondering where I should spend my summer, and one place keeps popping into my head: Alaska. Every encounter I've had with someone who has been there has ended in a "go, you will not regret it" sort of way. I like that enthusiam for the final frontier, America's wilderness.

I applied to a few places, Denali, Anchorage, a zipline park in Fairbanks, but my heart is in Kenai Fjords working on a day cruise ship as a deckhand. I know, you're thinking "Steph, a deackhand? That is so not her". That's why I want to do it, because it's not what I'm used to. I usually sit behind a desk and let others have the fun jobs. Not anymore. I'm ready to learn CPR, and the different marine knots, and figure out which side is port, and which is starboard. My training would also include man overboard rescue and proper sea speak.

I have an interview on Monday with a very nice sounding gentleman named Chad. In the meantime I will be praying that if this is what God wants for me, then let it be.
